Rosie is a boxer. She is 8 weeks old tomorrow. She's softer than a velour hoody.
If it were not for these three endearing qualities in Rosie, I would probably have thrown in the towel by now. Why didn't any of you dog lovers warn me? Why didn't you tell me that bringing home an 8-week-old puppy is like, well, bringing home an 8-week-old human? (Only no breastfeeding) I feel just as concerned about her welfare.
From time to time I suffer post-partum-like pangs that tell me my life will never be the same, especially when my feet are cold. Someday Rosie will be mature enough to take her foot-warming job seriously: a faithful companion lying at my feet in the Cabin kitchen while I bang away on the laptop keyboard. Right now, however, it would be nice to wear some slippers while she scampers around the kitchen, leaving puddles and licking her reflection in the stainless steel garbage can. It would be nice to wear these slippers that I got for Christmas.
My mom visited several countries last year known for thier fine woolens. I can't recall whether she said she found these in Ireland or Australia. They are 100% thick felted wool down to the hand-stitched sole. Alas, they are the cool new slippers I can't wear. Look at them: they are two red, European-size-40 dog toys.
Cheers

Love the slippers. I'm sorry you can't wear them. . .but Rosie is adorable! Maybe someday I can meet her. Hope y'all had a wonderful Christmas.
Oh and the puppies just love the wool felt.
I was pretty exhausted and overwhelmed by puppy hood but I love my dog so much now that he's a bit more mature and independent.
I thought I was such a jerk not adoring everything about raising a puppy... but as I confessed, I found more and more people who had the exact experience.
And take lots of pictures. They grow MUCH faster than human babies.
Our dogs are 7 years old and we are just now getting them fully trained. And our breed is of the forever-puppy type, although they've calmed down a little.
Like everything else, you'll have this down in a snap. And if not, isn't Emily the pet person? :P
Oh, and just in case...no chocolate or grapes.
Yeah, she's awesome. Love the ears.
Keep the slippers, awesome though they may be, far and away for Miss Rosie for awhile. Also, credit cards... if she's anything like Abe.
