My new "scrap" book

During the winter months one of the things I miss most about warmer weather is dirt. With the ground now frozen, there is no little square Cabin garden to tend, no blueberries bushes to dote on. So you can imagine how excited I am about this recent addition to our "choose less" library.

Based on the Cabin cupboards today, I could start my Don't Throw It, Grow It garden with any one of the following: potatoes, carrots, shallots, or lentils. I vote lentil. I predict that I will soon be addicted to turning my "pits, roots, and shoots" into a windowsill garden, and will not give the snow and ice a second thought.

I would buy that book for the cover art alone. But re-growing a lentil??? Who knew? That's fabulous.

I will be watching this spot for signs of greenery!
